Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Alexander Pavlov took part in the opening ceremony of a new modular barracks erected on the grounds of the Nizhny Novgorod Higher Military Engineering Command School. This is already the third such structure funded by the regional government: the first barracks were commissioned in 2024, the second in the spring of 2025.
Pavlov reminded that since the start of the Special Military Operation the region has consistently provided support to military units and formations, including units serving on the front line as well as those stationed at permanent garrisons. The new building will give servicemen more comfortable living conditions and provide everything necessary to maintain an appropriate level of combat readiness.
The official expressed confidence that working together contributes to bringing Victory closer, which, as the deputy governor noted, “will certainly be ours.”
The modular administrative and living facility is designed to accommodate 120 people and is equipped with everything necessary for the cadets’ accommodation and training and service activities. The building includes sleeping quarters, an armory, sanitary and hygiene facilities, a utility room, and space for drying uniforms and footwear.
The facility is fully supplied with engineering utilities: electricity, a ventilation system, water supply, sewage, and heating. Construction of the barracks took only six and a half months.
In addition, the region continues to implement a program to develop military commissariats under an agreement between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. To enhance security, military enlistment offices in municipalities are being equipped with emergency call systems for rapid response teams, as well as video cameras from the law-enforcement segment of the “Safe City” automated system. At the same time, ongoing repairs are being carried out on the premises that house the military commissariats.
Recall that on September 1, 2025, the military engineering school resumed operations after a hiatus of more than 10 years.
