Over the course of a year, Nizhny Novgorod residents spent more than 400 million rubles on antidepressants.

A significant increase in antidepressant sales has been recorded in pharmacies in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. As reported by MIA "Stacionar-press" editor-in-chief Alexey Nikonov, citing analytics company RNC Pharma, the region ranked sixth in terms of spending on depression medications.
From January to October of the current year, nearly 500,000 packs of antidepressants were sold in the region's pharmacies. Total sales amounted to 412 million rubles. This is 22% more than in the same period last year.
Residents' expenditures on medicines intended to treat depressive disorders increased even more noticeably — by 37%. Analysts note that all the most in-demand drugs in this category are showing double-digit growth rates.
Earlier it was reported that residents of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast purchased antiviral drugs worth 773.5 million rubles in 2025.
It should also be recalled that the average receipt in pharmacies increased by 12.4% year-on-year in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
