The procedure to expropriate two apartment buildings for municipal needs has begun in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. The corresponding decrees have been posted on the official portal of the city administration.
One of the properties is located at 5 Oboznaya Street. Three years ago it was classified as dilapidated and subject to demolition. Currently the authorities have begun to expropriate the premises inside the building, as well as the plot of land of 466 square meters on which it is located.
The second decree concerns house No. 17 on Bolshie Ovragi Street. This fall the building was also declared dilapidated, but in its case reconstruction is planned. The municipality intends to expropriate both the apartments and the adjacent plot of 825 square meters.
Property owners have been promised compensation for the expropriated real estate.
Earlier it became known that the Appellate Court refused to order the demolition of Andrey Klimentyev’s cafe.
It was also reported that the dismantling of the dilapidated Lenin Palace of Culture has begun in Kanavino.
