A special regime has been introduced near the construction site of a cable car across the Oka.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, a state of heightened readiness has been declared on Zarechny Boulevard. The reason for these measures was the formation of a ground collapse in the area of the hydro-tunnel located above the bed of the Rzhavka River. This information was posted on the official portal of the city administration.

      Special safety measures were introduced on October 10 near the construction site where a cable car across the Oka is planned. The regime covers the area around the damaged section of the tunnel between shafts No. 16 and No. 4, as well as the zone near the Russia cinema.

      Additionally, a section of the tunnel running close to residential buildings No. 5 and No. 7 on Zarechny Boulevard has been placed under observation.

      The city Department of Engineering Protection of Territories is responsible for installing barriers and placing warning signs. The same agency will organize repair work on the damaged sections of the tunnel.

      As stated in official documents, the developer of the cable car will be notified of the introduction of the heightened readiness regime in the construction zone.

      Recall that construction of the cable car across the Oka in Nizhny Novgorod began in August 2025. Completion of the main works is scheduled for the end of 2026.

      Earlier, a state of heightened readiness was reported in the Nizhegorodsky and Kanavinsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod.
