The dismantling of the Lenin Palace of Culture has begun in Nizhny Novgorod.

In Nizhny Novgorod a contractor has begun dismantling the building of the Lenin Palace of Culture in Kanavino, reports the deputy editor-in-chief of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod".
The unsafe building has been enclosed with a construction fence. Entry to the site is prohibited to unauthorized persons.
As of November 30, heavy machinery had already begun demolishing the hazardous structures in the inner courtyard of the Palace of Culture. These works are planned to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
Then restoration of the building's historic appearance will begin. It is expected that up to 20% will be allocated to public spaces, and the remaining area will be designated for housing.
We remind that the building was declared unsafe, and people's presence on the territory of the Lenin Palace of Culture is restricted for safety reasons. The works are planned to be fully completed in 2028.
It was previously reported that the restoration of the Koromyslova Tower in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is scheduled for 2026.
