In Nizhny Novgorod, a temporary bypass road on Rodionova Street was opened. It began operating on the night of December 2. The new stretch was built to carry traffic during construction of the expanded worksite for the "Sennaya" metro station.
The new road features two lanes in each direction. However, a traffic jam formed on the stretch already on the morning of December 2.
The bypass route was built for temporary use — it will carry traffic during the expansion of the construction site of the new "Sennaya" metro station. The maximum permitted speed on the temporary road is 40 km/h.
For passengers' convenience, two bus stops have been arranged along the new road — at buildings No. 1 and No. 11 — as well as three signal-controlled pedestrian crossings and three traffic lights.
The old road, which the bypass temporarily replaced, is currently closed. A construction fence and plastic barriers have been installed around the perimeter. Construction work at this site will begin shortly.
It was previously reported that a project to expand the section of Vaneeva Street, costing about 24 million rubles, will be developed in the first half of 2026.
