Three kindergartens and eight schools will be closed for repairs in the Nizhny Novgorod Region in 2026.

In 2026, eight schools and three kindergartens in the Nizhny Novgorod region will temporarily cease operations — all will be closed for comprehensive repairs. This was said by the head of the regional Ministry of Education in a conversation with the Vremya N agency.
Four schools on the list are planned to be renovated within one year. These are School No. 123 in the Leninsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, School No. 48 in the Prioksky District, Bolshemokrinskaya Secondary School in the village of Bolshoe Mokroe, Kstovsky District, and Motmos Secondary School in the village of Motmos in Vyksa.
Another four educational institutions will undergo comprehensive repairs over two years — from 2026 to 2027. These are School No. 93 in the Moskovsky District, School No. 76 in the Sormovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, as well as School No. 1 in Kstovo and School No. 11 in Pavlovo.
During the works, students will be transferred to other nearby educational institutions.
At the same time, in 2026 repairs will begin at three preschool institutions: Kindergarten No. 18 "Malysh" in the settlement of Pizhma, Tonshaevsky District; Kindergarten No. 3 "Skazka" in Knyaginino; and the "Solnyshko" kindergarten in Sechenovo.
Authorities expect to complete all work on preschool facilities within one year.
All planned repairs will be carried out under the national project "Family."
Earlier, the editorial office of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" found out that the new building of Nizhny Novgorod School No. 103 will be built in 2027.
It was also reported that 2.2 billion rubles will be allocated in 2026 for the repair and construction of Nizhny Novgorod schools.
