Nizhny Novgorod residents are invited to participate in a competition of best practices for the older generation.
30 November 2025 12:30 Economy Organizations and individuals of the Nizhny Novgorod region can take part in the contest for the best practices for the older generation “Active Longevity 2025”, organized by ANO “National Priorities” with the support of the Ministry of Labour of Russia for the development of the national project “Family”.
The contest will run until 25 December 2025 on the platform DOLGOLETIE2025.RF.
Organizations of any legal form are invited to participate in the competition: socially oriented NGOs, charitable foundations, businesses, budgetary institutions, regional and municipal executive authorities, as well as initiative groups of citizens who have venues and capabilities to organize events for the older generation, and individuals — citizens of the Russian Federation.
“Improving the quality of life of older people remains a top state priority. Today more than 14 million older people are engaged in creative activities and physical culture, acquiring new knowledge and helping others. They are active and ready to put their strength, experience and warmth of heart to use in activities that benefit society. The most effective and interesting methods are identified annually through the competitive selection of the best active longevity practices and then replicated across the country,” said First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Olga Batalina.
Applications can be submitted in one of five directions:
- “Information systems about programs and opportunities for the older generation.” This nomination accepts regional, municipal and district practices whose main task is the collection of information about all projects related to active longevity in the territory, as well as informing people of the “silver” age and their relatives about available opportunities at their place of residence. This includes contacts and details about any projects, events and organizations related to active longevity, care and support for older people.
- “Systemic practices.” This nomination accepts comprehensive active longevity, care and support projects that provide all-round support to the older generation: from territorial accessibility to systematic health screening.
- “Use of regional and municipal infrastructure for holding active longevity events.” This nomination accepts practices that envisage the implementation of events for older people in close cooperation with cultural centers, community centers, polyclinics, libraries, schools, sports complexes and other infrastructure facilities, including corporate ones.
- “Practices for men 60+.” This nomination accepts projects aimed at organizing an active life for older men.
- “Innovative active longevity practices.” This nomination accepts projects aimed at identifying and addressing new challenges or offering an unusual, previously unused format.
“We have been selecting the best active longevity practices for six years now. Thanks to its participants, new trends in working with the older generation are formed, new tools and technologies appear, which are then replicated in other regions and gain new scale. This year we have radically changed the approach to forming the list of nominations — the selection is now based not on searching for local success stories within separate thematic blocks, but on systemic practices and comprehensive solutions. This will increase the effectiveness of implementing regional active longevity programs as a whole, rather than improving individual elements of them. The exceptions are innovative practices that solve fundamentally new tasks or offer a unique way of addressing current issues. Also, projects for men 60+ remain a special focus for us and we support their replication,” said Sofia Malyavina, General Director of ANO “National Priorities”.
Projects of 100 finalists will be recommended for replication and will receive information support in the media and on the contest partners’ resources. Winners in the nominations “Practices for men 60+” and “Innovative active longevity practices” will receive an additional cash prize of 500,000 rubles each.
The main goal of the selection is to develop and spread active longevity projects in the regions, to identify and replicate the best practices of working with the older generation that reflect the main principles and provisions of the Strategy of Actions in the Interests of Older Citizens in the Russian Federation up to 2030.
