Eight schools are planned to be closed for renovation in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2026. This was reported in an interview with IA "Vremya N" by the Minister of Education and Science of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov.
According to him, four schools are planned to be renovated within one year. These are School No. 123 in the Leninsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, School No. 48 in the Prioksky District, Bolshemokrinskaya Secondary School in the village of Bolshoye Mokroe in Kstovo District, and Motmos Secondary School in the village of Motmos in Vyksa.
Four more schools will undergo comprehensive renovation over two years, 2026–2027. These are School No. 93 in the Moskovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, School No. 76 in the Sormovsky District, School No. 1 in Kstovo, and School No. 11 in Pavlovo.
All students of these educational institutions will be distributed to nearby schools for their studies.
"I expect that everyone will understand this matter," said Mikhail Puchkov.
He added that a record number of schools — 20 — were renovated in 2025. Of those, 12 have been opened and are operating.
"These schools are located in the most remote districts of the region," he noted. "Also, just days ago the Kalininskaya Secondary School in the Vetluzhsky district was opened. Another seven schools will open by the end of 2025."
Recall that comprehensive major repairs of schools are being carried out within the framework of the federal project "All the Best for Children" of the national project "Youth and Children."
