An 18-year-old student from Kstovo offered his classmate a chance to make "easy" money, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reports. The student agreed to have several cards issued, linking them to other people's phone numbers, and received a reward from his fellow student. Some time later strangers contacted the young man and asked him to go to a bank branch to restore access to the accounts and withdraw funds from them, because transactions on those accounts had been blocked. The Kstovo resident told his mother what had happened, blocked all previously issued cards and went to the police. The victim's classmate has been detained. He turned out to be an accomplice in the fraud scheme, handing other people's cards over to third parties for a fee. A criminal case has been opened.
