About 300 young mothers have contacted the Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center since the beginning of the year.

      Since the beginning of 2025, 298 young mothers raising children up to seven years old have applied to the Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center for help with employment.

      The main employment sectors for applicants with young children have been education, industry, and wholesale and retail trade. Career advisers at the employment service have matched vacancies such as assistant caregiver, procurement specialist, administrator, records clerk, dispatcher, economist, sales attendant, accountant, quality-control engineer, and others.

      "Combining motherhood and a career can be difficult. Therefore our approach is comprehensive: we do not just look for any job, we help find precisely the one that will match a woman's professional interests and life situation, including considering options with flexible schedules or remote work," said Igor Pantyukhin, head of the Department of Labor and Employment of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      For each job seeker, specialists at the personnel center develop an individual employment assistance plan, help prepare a resume, coach candidates for interviews, match vacancies taking into account skills and capabilities, and refer them for retraining in in-demand professions. Young mothers can also count on social and psychological support.

      "Sometimes women returning from maternity leave go through a period of uncertainty about their professional skills and competencies. Our task is not simply to place them in jobs, but to support, inspire, and provide the necessary knowledge and confidence that motherhood and a career are not an 'either/or' choice but a wonderful combination. We want the return to the profession to be for these women not a source of stress, but a new happy stage in life," said Lyudmila Egorova, director of the Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center "Rabota Rossii".
