      One of the wealthiest residents of Nizhny Novgorod, entrepreneur Galina Sidarok, who created a brand of sauerkraut and other vegetable preserves under the trademark "Beloruchka," was found guilty by the court of organizing illegal migration. This is reported by the program "Kstati." Her company "Echo" for many years shipped products from the factory to various regions of Russia and abroad, and the business's revenue was estimated at more than 1.5 billion rubles a year, which led to Sidarok appearing in Forbes rankings. According to the case materials, the investigation established that Sidarok, together with accomplices, organized a scheme under which foreign citizens lived and worked in Russia without the required permits or on documents containing false information about their place of employment.

      The migrants were employed at her own vegetable processing enterprise producing sauerkraut and other products, and access to the production site was restricted to outsiders. This concerned a period of at least several months during which the foreigners were effectively on the factory premises without legal grounds.

      The court in Nizhny Novgorod found Galina Sidarok guilty under the article on organizing illegal migration. She was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, suspended.
