Work continues in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin on the comprehensive improvement of the Governor's Garden, the regional government's administrative department told NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."
According to the information, the contract was signed between the State Budgetary Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin" and the State Enterprise of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "DiRON." It provides for the construction of an amphitheater, completion of work on the construction of retaining walls, and the installation of a network of pedestrian paths in the promenade area. The contractor will also install an automatic irrigation system, lay a lawn, plant greenery, and install small architectural forms.
During the execution of the contract it became clear that modernization of the existing drainage system is necessary to eliminate flooding of a section of the wall near the Zachatyevskaya Tower. It is also planned to reinforce the slopes there with geogrid and geomats.
The department emphasized that the issue of extending the contract deadlines into the first half of 2026 is currently being considered, since the aforementioned works technologically precede the main works under the contract.
Earlier it was reported that the Powder Tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is planned to be examined in 2026.
We also note that the terraced park in the Pochainsky Ravine of Nizhny Novgorod will not be completed before autumn next year.
