Utility rates will be increased twice in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2026.

      Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region can expect a two-stage increase in utility tariffs in 2026. This is stated in an order from the Russian government.

      The first stage of the price increase is scheduled for 1 January — tariffs will rise by 1.7%. This is the basic indexation that will apply across the country and affect all regions.

      The main increase will occur in the autumn. From 1 October, utility payments in the Nizhny Novgorod region will immediately rise by 9.9%.

      At the same time, according to the order, an additional upward deviation is permitted for some municipalities. For the region the maximum figure is set at 2.1%. It may also be applied from 1 October.

      Additionally, from July 2026 the fee for capital repairs in the region will increase. It is planned to be raised by 4%.
