More than 100 schoolchildren took part in the third forum "Vzlet. Industrial Start" (14+) in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The forum was held in Arzamas.
The project is organized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the regional "My Business" center, with the support of the Corporate University of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Nizhny Novgorod Youth Career Center "KUPNO.START" and the regional branch of the "Movement of the First" of the Nizhny Novgorod Region as part of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy."
According to Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the main goal of the project is to show young people that modern enterprises are the future, where technologies, intelligence and initiative are in demand.
"The project allows schoolchildren not only to see production processes, but also to get to know their municipality better — its history, strengths and the enterprises that form the district's industrial core. This is an important part of choosing a future profession and realizing one's connection with their native region. The program involves students in grades 8–11, and for each age group this experience is important in its own way: for older students it helps to decide on a future profession, while for younger pupils it expands their understanding of the opportunities available nearby," emphasized Maxim Cherkasov.
The third of nine municipal "Vzlet. Industrial Start" forums took place in Arzamas. By next spring, such events will be held in Vyksa, Dzerzhinsk and Semyonov, as well as in the Pavlovsk, Gorodets and Balakhna municipal districts. The first two events were held in the Chkalovsk and Navashino urban districts. The results of the entire program will be summed up in spring 2026 at the final in Nizhny Novgorod.
Students in grades 8–11 took part in the Arzamas forum. A total of 10 teams of 7–10 people were formed.
"The program took place in two stages: first the students visited the municipality's industrial enterprises, after which they presented their vision of these enterprises in the form of presentations and videos. In their work, participants reflected the specifics of the productions, their development history and opportunities for career growth. All teams showed a high level of preparation, and the winner was the team from MBOU MOC 'Sozvezdie'. The students will represent their municipality in the regional program final," the minister clarified.
The presentations were evaluated by a judging panel that included representatives of the regional Ministry of Industry, the district administration, the regional "My Business" center and the Nizhny Novgorod Youth Career Center "KUPNO.START." Experts assessed the teams according to the following criteria: content and depth of topic coverage, structure and logic of presentation, oratory skills, teamwork, quality of visual design, originality and career-guidance component.
"The forum is a vivid, living dialogue between the future and the present of the district. Children receive not abstract advice, but real experience. After all, many probably took career-guidance tests during their school years. They're not bad, but far removed from real life. Here there are facts, production cases, the essence of the profession from the inside... Already today in Arzamas we have 40 specialized classes in 15 schools — from railway to engineering and legal profiles. Children have a clear trajectory from the school desk to the workplace. There is no need to choose a profession at random if there is an opportunity to try it," noted Arzamas mayor Alexander Shchelokov.
The forum program also included educational activities. On the entrepreneurship track, participants learned about the work of the regional "My Business" center and its branches in the region's districts, conditions for starting one’s own business and state support measures for young entrepreneurs. At the "How to Build Your Career Track?" master class of the Nizhny Novgorod Youth Career Center "KUPNO.START," the students learned about principles of planning a professional path, choosing a suitable profession and self-presentation skills.
The forum site also featured an interactive zone, the "Exhibition of Career Opportunities," where participants could speak with representatives of the municipality's enterprises. Employers talked about current vacancies, working conditions, career opportunities for young specialists and measures of social support for employees.
In addition, the exhibition included booths from the "My Business" center, the "Work of Russia" employment center, and the mobile career point of the Nizhny Novgorod Youth Career Center.
Recall that information about all business support measures at the federal and regional levels can be found at the "My Business" center (мойбизнес52.рф), which operates within the federal project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." The center runs a "My Business" hotline where you can also get all necessary information. Hotline phone number: 8 (800) 301-29-94 (toll-free).
According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy" will become the main instrument for forming a new growth model. It includes federal projects aimed at developing small and medium-sized enterprises, increasing labor productivity, boosting investment activity, low-carbon development and developing the state system of statistics and forecasting. One of the main points of the national project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship" was creating conditions for an easy start and comfortable business operation. Work to support entrepreneurs in this direction will continue this year within the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy."
