Four schools and one kindergarten in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast have completely suspended operations due to a rise in acute respiratory viral infections. This was reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor.

According to it, for the period from November 17 to 23, 2025, about 15,000 cases of ARVI were registered in the region. Nevertheless, epidemic thresholds have not yet been exceeded.

It is noted that rhinovirus and parainfluenza predominate among the viruses. Cases of infection with RSV, metapneumoviruses and adenoviruses have also been identified. Influenza viruses accounted for 16.7% of the total number of positive samples.

In addition to the educational institutions completely closed for quarantine, the educational process has been partially suspended in another 153 classes across 39 schools, as well as in 80 groups in 66 kindergartens.

Enhanced sanitary measures have been introduced in educational institutions: regular disinfection of premises is carried out under a "viral" protocol, a morning screening for children and staff has been organized, germicidal irradiators are operating, and systematic ventilation is ensured.

Earlier it was reported that a contagious virus, which Muscovites have been complaining about, would reach Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Patients exhibit high fever, cough, body aches and weakness — symptoms similar to the flu and lasting up to five days.
