Young residents of Nizhny Novgorod studied the work of the Chinese Consulate General in Kazan.

      Deputy Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Cao Longquan held a meeting with participants of the “Y. E. Fokin Young Diplomat School” project. The meeting took place as part of a visit by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan to the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Also participating in the event were Olga Guseva, Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and Sergey Malov, representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Nizhny Novgorod.

      “We strive to comprehensively educate our schoolchildren by providing them with unique opportunities to communicate with representatives of foreign states. A meeting with Deputy Consul General of the PRC in Kazan Cao Longquan is an important step for the young diplomats in expanding their knowledge about China and our cooperation. We are confident that such events will help them better understand international relations and prepare them for future careers in the field of international relations,” said Olga Guseva, Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Cao Longquan spoke to the young diplomats about key aspects of China’s policies, including foreign economic strategies, cultural initiatives, and approaches to international cooperation. He emphasized the importance of mutual understanding and dialogue between countries to address global challenges. The Deputy Consul General also introduced the meeting participants to the activities of the Consulate General, highlighting its role in strengthening bilateral relations and developing cultural ties between Russia and China.

      “We seek to develop ties between our countries and strengthen mutual understanding. It is important that the younger generation of diplomats actively participates in this process, bringing fresh ideas and new approaches; their efforts can play a key role in shaping the future of international cooperation. I hope that participants in the ministry’s projects will work on building strong links between our peoples, promoting the exchange of culture, knowledge, and experience. This will help us better understand each other and find common solutions to the global challenges we face today,” said Cao Longquan.

      As part of the visit, Olga Guseva also met with the delegation. Sergey Malov, representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Nizhny Novgorod, took part in the meeting. The parties reviewed the region’s cooperation with China and outlined areas for interaction for 2026.

      “China is a strategic partner of the Russian Federation, and we are especially pleased by the Consulate General of China’s attention to educational projects in our region, which also receive support from the Russian Foreign Ministry. The ‘Y. E. Fokin Young Diplomat School’ and the ‘Nizhny Novgorod Region Internationalists Club’ projects provide young people with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fundamentals of diplomacy and international relations.
