Three villages are to be merged into one in Gorodetsky District.

26 November 2025, 13:13 Society — In the Gorodetsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, it is planned to merge the villages of Fedurino, Voronovo and Osinki into a single populated locality while retaining the name "Fedurino". The corresponding bill was introduced to the regional Legislative Assembly by the Zemstvo Assembly of the Gorodetsky Okrug.

The purpose of the initiative is to create conditions for residents to participate in the program to complete gasification. According to the law on the administrative-territorial structure of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, a merger is possible if the settlements have effectively merged and their infrastructure has become unified.

The explanatory note states that when merging settlements the opinion of the population and the representative body of local self-government is taken into account.

According to the latest All-Russian Population Census of 2020, Fedurino had 450 people, Osinki — 19, and Voronovo — 7. A survey was conducted among residents, and they supported the merger.

After reviewing the survey results, on October 16 the Zemstvo Assembly made an official decision to consent to the merger of the three villages into one. The bill will now be considered at the regional level.

Earlier it was reported that, to provide residents with the opportunity to participate in the program to complete household gasification, it was proposed to merge the villages of Shatovka and Panfilovo in the Arzamas Okrug.
