The Zemstvo Assembly of the Gorodetsky Municipal District has prepared a bill that expands the traffic police's powers to seize two-wheeled vehicles. The document proposing amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses was sent to the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Yevgeny Lyulin.

The initiative belongs to the head of the Gorodetsky District, Alexander Mudrov. This past summer he called for attention to the problem of parents buying motorized vehicles such as motorcycles and scooters for underage children without oversight. The prompt was numerous cases in which teenagers were involved in serious road accidents.

According to Mudrov, appeals to parents have had no effect. He noted that many adults see nothing wrong with giving a child a motorcycle or scooter, forgetting that operating such vehicles requires a driver's license and safe driving skills.

"Besides the 'iron horse', a child must reach the age for obtaining a driver's license. Moreover, that license must be obtained after learning many rules. Once again: every day fighters in the special military operation defend us and the future of children. We cannot allow these children to, with their own hands, erase their own and others' lives," Mudrov wrote on his Telegram channel.

Deputies propose to enshrine a provision that would allow the traffic police to promptly seize motorized vehicles from violators. The seized vehicles are planned to be allocated for the needs of participants in the special military operation.

Earlier it was reported that a businessman from Gorodets had organized the preparation of cars for fighters in the special military operation.

Recall also that the Nizhny Novgorod Region sent 17 billion rubles to assist fighters in the special military operation.
