Nizhny Novgorod residents were warned about a new contagious virus.

      The contagious virus that Muscovites have been complaining about will also hit the Nizhny Novgorod region. Medical expert Alexey Nikonov wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

      Those infected with this virus experience high fever, a severe cough, body aches and weakness. Symptoms last up to five days, as with the flu.

      "And even severe ear pain fits into the classic picture of a viral illness, nothing unusual," noted the editor-in-chief of the medical portal "Stacionar-press."

      Nikonov clarified that many of his acquaintances have already gone on sick leave.

      According to Rospotrebnadzor, the country is seeing an increase in influenza and ARVI incidence. The most commonly identified influenza strains in patients are H1N1 and H3N2. In addition, coronavirus incidence is rising, but slowly.

      Earlier it was reported that a school and three kindergartens in the Nizhny Novgorod region were closed for quarantine due to ARVI.

      There was also information that this autumn Nizhny Novgorod residents are threatened by the Hong Kong flu and new strains of the coronavirus.
