Pari NN's young footballers became the silver medalists of the tournament in China.

      The Pari Nizhny Novgorod-2008 footballers won silver medals at the international Famous School Cup, which took place in China. Six youth teams from Russia, China and South Korea took part in the tournament.

      The Nizhny Novgorod side began the tournament with a tough match against the team from the Industrial High School in Seoul. The match ended in a 3–4 defeat. As senior coach Gennady Maslyaev noted, the result was affected by the long flight and the early kick-off — in Moscow time the match started at four in the morning.

      However, the next day the Pari players routed the Chinese club Lushan 10–0.

      On 18 November the Nizhny Novgorod side played a tense match against Licheng from Jinan and won 3–2. And on 19 November they kept a clean sheet again, beating Sports School No. 2 from Zhengzhou 3–0.

      In the final round on 20 November Pari NN faced the Henan ESSH. The match ended in a 2–2 draw.

      “We suffered only one defeat in the first round, against a very good team from Seoul. Then we acclimatized, winning three matches in a row. But we then faced another problem. Three of our players got injured, and for the final game we went out with only one substitute on the bench. You could say we gave it everything, twice leveling the score during the match. We could have won, but in the end — a draw and second place,” said senior coach Gennady Maslyaev.

      Earlier it was reported that Pari NN players thrashed the club’s youth team in a friendly match.
