Nizhny Novgorod minister Vladimir Tuzhilin has joined the ranks of reservists.

      The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Vladimir Tuzhilin, has joined the regional mobilization reserve "BARS-NN." He is currently undergoing military training at a training ground, the regional government’s press service reported.

      According to Tuzhilin, the decision to join the reserve was deliberate and related to his previous work experience in newly acquired territories. He noted that he personally witnessed the importance of protecting strategic facilities and considers it his duty to contribute to ensuring security.

      "Having worked in the Donetsk People’s Republic, I know firsthand how important the protection of strategically significant infrastructure facilities is. My civic duty prompted me to join the BARS-NN reserve to contribute to ensuring security and protecting important facilities in the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," the minister emphasized.

      It should be recalled that service in the reserve is carried out exclusively within the Nizhny Novgorod Region and does not involve participation in the zone of the special military operation. BARS-NN reservists are engaged in guarding critically important facilities in the region. Training is conducted under instructors with combat experience and includes firearms, tactical, engineering and medical training, as well as basics of electronic warfare, communications and command and control.

      Joining the reserve is voluntary and is done by signing a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence through military commissariats. The hotline operates daily from 9:00 to 20:00; after that calls are processed automatically.

      Earlier it was reported that Deputy Governor Andrey Gneushev and the heads of fifteen municipalities in the region joined BARS-NN.
