In Dzerzhinsk, police detained a 65-year-old man who, according to the investigation, wounded a hospital visitor with a knife during an altercation. The incident occurred on the premises of the medical facility.
According to the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, in mid-November a 37-year-old man was taken to one of the city hospitals with a penetrating abdominal wound. Doctors reported to the police that the injury was serious and is being classified as grievous bodily harm.
It turned out that the victim had come to the hospital for help. There he had a conflict with a security guard, during which the latter stabbed him with a knife. According to the suspect, he used the weapon after the man struck him in the face twice.
Police quickly identified the alleged assailant. He turned out to be a 65-year-old Dzerzhinsk resident with no prior convictions. He was detained the same day near a relative's house on Lenin Avenue.
At first the man was held administratively for petty hooliganism. After that he was taken into custody.
At the hospital where the incident occurred, police conducted a search and seized the knife as well as other items that may be evidence in the case.
A criminal case has been opened for intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm. The perpetrator may face a severe sentence, up to imprisonment.
Earlier it was reported that an unknown person attacked a hospital security guard in Dzerzhinsk.
