The general director of the Torpedo hockey club, Evgeny Zabuga, on the air of the program "Na svyazi" (6+) shared current information about the timing of the team's move to the new arena at Strelka.

"We are fully dependent on the contractor in this case. It has been said repeatedly that the arena is being built under a concession agreement, so at the moment we are waiting for the contractor’s answer on the date of receiving the certificate of conformity," Zabuga said.

After receiving the certificate, the next step will be obtaining the permit to commission the facility. He added that regular operational meetings are currently being held under the leadership of one of the governor's relevant deputies, at which all actions to complete the construction are coordinated.

"No one wants to retreat from the previously announced dates and to hold the opening match during the last home games this year — December 23 and 25. The task is to give the region a celebration before the New Year," the club head noted.

For the record, on December 23 and 25 Torpedo will meet Sochi and CSKA, respectively.

At the same time Zabuga stressed that the club is doing everything possible on its side, however the timing remains the responsibility of the contractor, on whom further developments depend.

Recall that construction of the Palace began in 2022. Initially the work was planned to be completed in 2024, but later the deadlines were moved to autumn 2025. It later became known that the facility should be commissioned by the end of 2025.

As of early October the arena’s construction readiness was 96%. Exterior work is practically complete; interior finishing and commissioning activities continue. Landscaping of the adjacent territory is underway, architectural lighting and the media facade are being tested, and the installation of the central video cube above the ice arena has been completed. Work on installing the terminal elements of the engineering systems is also nearing completion.

It was previously reported that an additional 4.6 billion rubles will be allocated to the construction of the arena over the next three years.
