A pneumococcal vaccine has arrived at polyclinics in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by medical blogger Aleksey Nikonov on his Telegram channel.
According to Nikonov, city residents have so far shown little interest in vaccination, although the vaccine is particularly important for some population groups.
"Vaccination is strongly recommended for residents aged 65+ and elderly people with chronic diseases," Nikonov emphasized.
Earlier, residents of Nizhny Novgorod were told about the importance of vaccination.
It was also reported that by the beginning of October only 690,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents had been vaccinated against influenza. This is an insufficient number to contain the spread of the disease.
