Nizhny Novgorod residents were told how the construction of houses for resettlement is progressing.

      October 24, 2025, 12:56 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, the construction of three apartment buildings intended for the resettlement of citizens from emergency housing continues. The work is being carried out by municipal order as part of the first stage of the program "Resettlement of citizens on the territory of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in the period from 2024 to 2030 from the emergency housing stock recognized as such from January 1, 2017 to January 1, 2022." The implementation of the first stage is scheduled for 2024–2026.

      According to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," the Department of Construction and Capital Repair reported that municipal contracts for the design and construction of the buildings were signed in the second quarter of 2024.

      At the site on Sadovaya Street near building No. 24 in the Avtozavodsky District, the foundation, monolithic reinforced concrete frame, facade and roof have been completed. External and internal engineering networks have been laid. Finishing work on the apartments and common areas, yard landscaping and installation of exterior lighting are currently underway.

      In the Sormovsky District, on Zaitseva Street near building No. 22, the foundation, reinforced concrete frame and roof of the building are already complete. Facade finishing is being finalized, internal engineering networks are being installed and apartment finishing continues. At the same time, the adjacent territory is being landscaped and street lighting is being installed.

      At the construction site on 40 Let Pobedy Street near buildings No. 12 and No. 13 in the Prioksky District, the foundation and monolithic structures of the first two sections have been completed. Work on the third section is nearing completion. Bricklaying of walls, plastering and facade work are now underway, windows are being installed, engineering networks are being mounted, and the courtyard area is being landscaped.

      The project documentation for the building on 40 Let Pobedy Street received a positive state expert conclusion. Due to a height difference of up to 1.8 meters between the building under construction and building No. 14, the construction of a retaining wall is planned. It will reinforce the soil and create a stable horizontal platform for high-quality landscaping.

      In addition, the project provides for the construction of children’s and sports playgrounds. To accommodate them, part of the greenery was cut down, but compensatory landscaping will be carried out as part of the improvement works.

      The construction timelines have been determined in accordance with the schedule for the implementation of the first stage of the program and the approved funding volume.

      Recall that in September 2025 the Nizhny Novgorod Prosecutor’s Office conducted an on-site inspection at the site on 40 Let Pobedy Street. Based on its results, the general contractor was issued a warning about the inadmissibility of missing the deadlines for work under the municipal contract.

      It was reported that another building for the resettlement of citizens from emergency housing will be built in the Sormovsky District.

      We also reported that by 2028 Nizhny Novgorod will relocate 250 emergency apartment buildings.
