From March 1, 2026, Russia will begin operating a federal register that will contain information on pregnant women, the outcomes of their pregnancies, and the health of newborns. This was reported by TASS.

As Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova noted at a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of State Demographic and Family Policy, the launch of the register will make it possible to more effectively monitor the situation in the field of reproductive health and to take measures within the framework of the country’s demographic policy. According to her, it will include information on all pregnant women, the outcomes of their pregnancies, and the health status of newborn children.

The collection and analysis of such data, authorities emphasize, are necessary to improve the quality of medical care for pregnant women and newborns, as well as to enable timely responses to potential risks.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a council meeting, highly praised the Nizhny Novgorod Region’s experience in the field of demographic policy.
