The cause was a breach of the terms of the municipal contract by the contractor. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the city's Department of Urban Improvement. Recall that more than 167 million rubles were allocated for the development of the stormwater drainage network scheme in Nizhny Novgorod for 2026–2036. It was planned that it would be approved by the end of the year. However, in June the contract with the competition winner was terminated due to non-fulfillment of obligations. As explained by the administration, after the merger of Nizhny Novgorod with Kstovo and the formation of a single municipal district, specialists began preparing documentation to conclude a new contract for the development of the stormwater drainage network scheme, as well as to create a tariff mechanism for financing the costs of using and developing stormwater drainage systems in the Nagornaya and Zarechnaya parts of Nizhny Novgorod. After the necessary information has been collected, a technical specification will be prepared and the cost and timeline for the work will be determined. New start dates for the design have not yet been set. It was previously reported that the stormwater drainage project in the Gordeevsky microdistrict again failed the state examination.       In 2026, changes to the system of state guarantees and updates to the mandatory medical insurance tariff will come into force in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by representative of the Nizhny Novgorod medical community Alexey Nikonov on his Telegram channel.

      One of the key innovations will be the possibility for close relatives, legal representatives or caregivers to stay in hospitals around the clock to care for patients. Such assistance will be provided free of charge provided that sanitary and epidemiological requirements are met.

      Also, from 2026 it is planned to expand the scope of medical care for the families of servicemen listed as missing in action during the special military operation.

      Another step toward modernizing the healthcare system will be the use of drones. Drones will be used to deliver medicines, biomaterials and other medical cargo. For the first time, expenses for these services will be included in the compulsory medical insurance tariff, which will allow them to be financed by the compulsory insurance system.

      Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Health’s chief freelance transplant surgeon evaluated the experience of Nizhny Novgorod hospitals.
