      The head of the Gorodetsky Urban Okrug of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Alexander Mudrov, was awarded the medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland," II class. This became known from the relevant decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 22 of this year. As the document notes, the award was presented for a significant contribution to the development of local self-government and many years of conscientious work. By the same decree the president bestowed the title "Honored Economist of the Russian Federation" on Yuri Mochalkin, director of the Finance Department of the Nizhny Novgorod administration. In addition, Natalya Tarabarina, a resident of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, received the title "Mother Heroine." The region’s medical community was also recognized with honorary titles. Thus, Vladimir Chiginev, head of the operating unit of the Academician Korolyov Cardiac Surgery Hospital, was awarded the Pirogov Order. Sergey Romanov, director of the Volga District Medical Center, received the medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland," II class. His deputy, Svetlana Dzyubak, was awarded the title "Honored Worker of Health Care of the Russian Federation."
