In Dzerzhinsk they discussed how to simplify land allocation for participants in the special military operation. One of the main ideas was to create a single information register where veterans can track which plots are available, where they are located and the applicant’s place in the queue.
The meeting took place on October 20. It was attended by the chairman of the region’s Legislative Assembly, Evgeny Lyulin; head of the relevant committee, Vasily Sukhanov; Minister for Urban Development and Agglomeration Development Darya Shunaeva; representatives of the local administration; and participants in the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program.
This meeting continued the September dialogue with veterans. At that time Lyulin ordered a detailed study of the issue of providing land to SMO participants and their families.
As reported at the meeting, more than 8,000 hectares of land have already been identified in the region — enough to form over 38,000 plots for household farming. About 700 plots have already been transferred into ownership. But in cities such as Dzerzhinsk, Volodarsk and Balakhna, free land is particularly scarce, which creates difficulties.
According to Evgeny Lyulin, a broader range of veterans are eligible to receive land in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast than is provided at the federal level. Here, not only those awarded orders but also holders of medals can apply for a plot.
To make the process more transparent, the authorities decided to develop a special register. It will indicate where plots are being formed, when land can be obtained and who is in which place in the queue.
"In Nizhny Novgorod Oblast it is planned to create a register where it will be visible — in which district and which plots are being formed, when one can exercise their right to land, and to see one’s place in the queue to receive it," said Vasily Sukhanov, chairman of the Legislative Assembly committee on urban development, property and land relations.
The meeting also discussed the criteria for land allocation. Some SMO participants said that even after suffering severe injuries they may not make the list due to a lack of awards. According to Sukhanov, such situations require a separate approach and legal justification. Regional authorities plan to send their proposals on this issue to their federal counterparts.
The creation of the register was also supported by the veterans themselves. All proposals voiced at the meeting will be taken into account in further work. Evgeny Lyulin promised that the dialogue with participants in the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program will continue.
Earlier it was reported that another humanitarian convoy was sent from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast to the zone of the special military operation.
