They want to build a transport interchange hub on Kazan Highway in 2030.

      The construction of a new transport interchange hub (TIH) at the intersection of Bogdanovich Street and Kazan Highway is planned for 2030. This was reported by Andrey Zhitnikov, director of the Department of Transport, at a meeting of the city duma’s permanent commission on the development of road infrastructure.

      According to the official, the project will be financed from off-budget sources — with the involvement of an investor. The TIH will include two layover-and-turnaround areas as well as zones for passenger boarding and alighting.

      Zhitnikov added that the need to create such a facility is due, among other things, to the administrative annexation of the Kstovo District to Nizhny Novgorod. The new hub will allow passengers who regularly travel to Kstovo to transfer to public transport at a convenient point.

      The project has been approved by the Ministry of Transport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. In addition, the construction of the TIH is provided for in the master plan for the comprehensive development of the territory along Kazan Highway. This plan was developed at the initiative of the landowner and also includes the construction of a residential complex and a shopping center.

      The head of the department noted that, in addition to creating the transport interchange hub, it is proposed to include the construction of a number of new roads in the Program for the Comprehensive Development of Nizhny Novgorod’s Transport Infrastructure for 2019–2030.

      At the city’s expense, in 2030 it is planned to lay roads in the Avtozavodsky District: along Maloetazhnaya Street — from building No. 7 to building No. 19, and along Palisadnaya Street — from building No. 5 to building No. 1. About 200 million rubles are allocated for these purposes.

      In addition, the following projects are planned to be implemented with investors’ funds: in 2029 — repair of a section of the bypass road from the settlement Mostootryad, 18v, to Mostootryad Street, with the construction of a sidewalk (for 8.23 million rubles); in 2030 — construction of a street in the residential development in the area of building No. 29 on Boris Vidyaev Street (23.84 million rubles); as well as construction of a road from building No. 28 on Boris Vidyaev Street to building No. 33 on Mostootryad Street (35.86 million rubles).

      It was previously reported that about 40% of roads in the Kstovo District do not meet standards.
