The mayor's office has abandoned plans to build a 270-place school in Verkhniye Pechery.

      The mayor's office abandoned plans to build a small-capacity school and added two kindergartens to the program. This was reported at a meeting of the city duma's standing committee on social policy on October 14, the correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" says.

      The city administration proposed making corresponding changes to the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Social Infrastructure for 2020–2030. According to Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Artem Karazanov, the plan is to remove from it the construction of a small-capacity school for 270 places, which had been planned within the boundaries of Rodionova Street and Kazansky Highway. According to the official, the need for this facility has disappeared because a project to construct a new building for School No. 103 for 500 places is already being implemented in Verkhnie Pechery.

      In addition, a school for 900 places on Rodionova Street has been included in the program. Together with the regional Ministry of Urban Development, the possibility of building a large school on Akademicheskaya Street is also being considered. In this connection, the Department of Education proposed excluding the small-sized educational institution from the program.

      At the same time, it was proposed to include two new kindergartens in the Kanavinsky district in the program — for 220 and 158 places. This is necessary for the preparation of design documentation for the construction of apartment buildings intended for the resettlement of residents of emergency housing. According to current regulations, when developing such documentation social infrastructure facilities must be included in the comprehensive development program (PKR).

      One of the kindergartens is planned to be built in 2028–2029 within the boundaries of Osipenko, Elektrovoznaya and Raketnaya streets. The second — in 2030, in the area of the intersection of Zelenodolskaya Street, Ledokola Sadko Street and Komsomolskoye Highway.

      Recall that city authorities originally planned to build the new building for School No. 103 as early as 2024.
