Norovirus caused an outbreak of illness at the Sozvezdie school.

      Norovirus was identified as the cause of acute intestinal infections at the Arzamas school "Sozvezdie". It was detected in the food service staff and in the ill students, the office of Rospotrebnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod region reported.

      Recall that after cases were identified the school was closed for quarantine. Children are now studying remotely.

      A comprehensive set of anti-epidemic measures is currently being carried out, including final disinfection.

      The supervisory agency also reported violations of sanitary legislation in the food service unit. Administrative cases have been opened against those responsible.

      Earlier we reported that the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's office had taken an interest in the outbreak of intestinal infection among students. A criminal case is under investigation.
