The Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov, denied reports of a new fight at School No. 117 in the Sormovsky district. He posted his comment on his VKontakte page.
On the afternoon of 15 October, posts with footage from the educational institution began to appear on Telegram channels. The video shows a crowd of children and traces of blood. In particular, "Nizhny Novgorod Without Censorship" reported: "Children staged a mass fight in the corridor of School 117; it turned bloody."
The situation was clarified by the head of the regional Ministry of Education, Puchkov. According to him, there was no fight.
"Due to a health condition the child felt unwell, he fell and broke his nose. Older students helped him up and called adults. As a result, the boy received all necessary assistance; he is now feeling well! There was no fight or bullying of the child at the school!" the minister assured.
He also appealed to adults, asking them to wait for full information about any given "incident" rather than quickly forwarding alleged "horrific footage" to one another.
Recall that in spring 2025 a stabbing occurred at School 117, which resulted in two criminal cases. At that time one of the pupils stabbed classmates; they required medical attention. And in September there was a new conflict there: students forced a pupil to kneel and made him apologize on camera. An investigation was launched at the educational institution.
"All high-profile cases are under special supervision by the relevant ministry, with a full analysis of the causes and consequences of what happened, in order to reduce the likelihood of similar incidents recurring at a systemic level," Puchkov said today.
