      The government of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast is considering increasing the fare for public transport in Nizhny Novgorod to 40 rubles for cashless payments. The changes will not affect Kstovo District.

      The draft decree setting the new regulated fares has been put up for public discussion. They will run until 22 October.

      Recall that currently passengers pay 35 rubles for rides on buses, trams and trolleybuses with cashless payment and 40 rubles when paying in cash. Authorities propose introducing a single fare — 40 rubles regardless of the form of payment.

      In addition, a 60-minute trip paid for with an e-wallet will also cost 40 rubles. For transfers within 90 minutes, the cost will be 60 rubles instead of the current 52 rubles.

      It was previously reported that Nizhny Novgorod Oblast is considering the possibility of raising the fee for major repairs in 2026.
