More than 80% of Nizhny Novgorod residents highly rated the work of social district officers.

      More than 80% of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region consider the activities of social precinct officers to be effective. Specialists from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University reached this conclusion after conducting a large-scale sociological study.

      More than 35,000 people participated in the survey. The study was aimed at assessing the contribution of the "Social Precinct Officer" project to the development of political culture and civil society in the region.

      As emphasized by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Roman Golubin, the project covers cities such as Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Arzamas, Kstovo and Bogorodsk. According to him, strengthening the link between society and authorities is one of the key tasks, and the "Social Precinct Officer" plays an important role in this.

      According to the results of a telephone survey conducted in September 2025, 59% of respondents are already familiar with the activities of social precinct officers. During 650 telephone interviews, it was found that the project has a high level of public recognition.

      Data from a larger survey involving 35,327 people showed that over 80% of respondents are confident in the effectiveness of social precinct officers' work. At the same time, 42% of respondents know their precinct officer personally and expect him to be effective, and about 40% do not have a personal acquaintance but rate his activities positively.

      The study also revealed an improved perception of the situation in the region. More than 78% of survey participants noted positive changes in their localities over the past 3–5 years. About 14% believe the situation has not changed, and just over 3% reported a deterioration.

      According to Sergey Sudin, head of the Department of General Sociology and Social Work, these data can be regarded as a high appraisal of the regional authorities' work. He added that priority areas for social precinct officers outside the regional center remain housing and utilities and public amenities (42.3%), healthcare (33%), transport infrastructure (14.2%) and education.

      The university emphasizes that one of the key tasks of social precinct officers is to establish effective communication between the population and the authorities to address pressing social problems.

      Earlier it was reported that the access roads on Berezovskaya and Klyueva streets in Nizhny Novgorod were repaired thanks to social precinct officers.
