A hundred years is not the limit: the number of centenarians in the Nizhny Novgorod region has been announced.

      More than 400 people aged 100 or older live in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Of them, 163 centenarians are residents of Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the regional Ministry of Social Policy.

      Since 2023, the region has had a special procedure for congratulating those who have celebrated their 100th birthday. Centenarians in Nizhny Novgorod are presented with a congratulatory letter from the ministry, flowers, and a cash payment of 3,000 rubles.

      Earlier it was reported that almost one in five Nizhny Novgorod pensioners continues to work.
