In Nizhny Novgorod, law enforcement officers have begun fining people for selling energy drinks to minors, the regional Interior Ministry press service reported.
Thus, in one of the stores in the Avtozavodsky District a 51-year-old saleswoman sold a can of an energy drink to a 17-year-old teenager. The juvenile affairs inspector filed an administrative report against the woman. The court fined her 30,000 rubles.
Similar cases also occurred in the Kanavinsky District. There two sales of energy drinks to teenagers were also recorded.
Residents of Nizhny Novgorod were reminded that selling non-alcoholic tonic beverages, including energy drinks, to minors is prohibited. Serious fines are provided for this — from 30,000 to 50,000 rubles for ordinary citizens, from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles for officials, and from 300,000 to 500,000 rubles for organizations.
Earlier it was reported that a proposal had been made in the Nizhny Novgorod region to ban the sale of energy drinks in vending machines.
