Evgeny Lyulin: "The renovated school can and should become the pride of the city"

      On October 3 in the town of Lyskovo, the speaker of the regional parliament, Evgeny Lyulin, met with senior students of School No. 2. This year the educational institution reopened after a major overhaul. The speaker of the Legislative Assembly answered students’ questions, one of the main topics being the role of a teacher in shaping personality and the qualities that help a person become successful.

      During the "conversations about important things," Evgeny Lyulin shared with the students life principles which, in his opinion, make it possible to succeed in any chosen profession. The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region stressed that the students now face a very difficult task — making the right career choice. He spoke about how important it is to find a pursuit in life that will bring pleasure and make one a professional.

      "I tried to convey to the graduates the rules I myself believe in and follow. We talked about how everyone must take responsibility for themselves and their loved ones. To remember that each person must achieve the goals they set, and not rely on chance. In addition, one must remember that there are no unsolvable problems. No one says it will be easy. In the moment it often seems there is no way out and that it's the end, but giving in to panic is foolish and wrong. Unsolvable problems exist for those who are afraid to get up and do something," noted Evgeny Lyulin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      After the meeting, the speaker of the regional parliament, together with the school principal Olga Anisimova, inspected the renovated school premises. The work was carried out during 2024–2025. The building facade was renovated, windows and doors were replaced, communications, the fire alarm and security systems were updated. Classrooms, corridors, the gym, the canteen and restrooms acquired an entirely new look. New equipment for lessons was also purchased. At the moment, landscaping work around the school building is being completed. Work on the football field and the construction of a running track are nearing completion. The total contract amount for the institution’s major renovation amounted to more than 186 million rubles.

      "During the renovation we faced many difficulties. But from the outset we set ourselves the goal of achieving the maximum result, and I believe we have achieved it. I was personally involved in all the details, so I am already familiar with every corner of this school. Today I spoke with the cooks. They praise the equipment that freed them from manual labor. It may seem trivial, but this also contributes to the overall friendly atmosphere of the school, a place where children, teachers and staff want to come. I am confident that renovated School No. 2 can and should become the pride of Lyskovo," emphasized the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      It should be noted that comprehensive School No. 2 is currently ranked among the top 10 schools in the Nizhny Novgorod Region based on Unified State Exam (EGE) results in profile-level mathematics. In the 2024–2025 academic year the school graduated 13 medalists.
