For three weeks the man communicated with scammers in messaging apps about “additional earnings.” The fraudsters persuaded him to install an app on his phone and transfer money under the pretext of a profitable investment.
For several months the Balakhna resident waited for the promised earnings, but the funds never arrived. He then turned to the police. Law enforcement opened a criminal case on fraud.
