A drunk man with a rifle frightened passersby in Nizhny Novgorod.

      03 October 2025 17:12 Incidents: Police detained a suspicious man with an air rifle in Nizhny Novgorod.

      As reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region, on October 3 the department received a report from eyewitnesses. They said they had seen a man acting erratically with a weapon on Chaadaev Street.

      Officers from the Moskovsky and Sormovsky departments promptly responded to the call. The suspect was detained on Konovalov Street.

      According to the police, he is a 42-year-old man. He was reportedly intoxicated. An item resembling a weapon and a bulletproof vest were found in his possession.

      The detained man was taken to Police Precinct No. 8 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for N. Novgorod. The circumstances and motives for his actions are currently being investigated.
