More than 6,000 boreholes have been drilled for the new Nizhny Novgorod metro stations.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, 6,150 boreholes have been drilled at the construction sites of the future stations "Sennaya" and "Freedom Square". This was reported on the Telegram channel "Metro NN".

      The work is being carried out using Jet Grouting technology, based on soil cementation to increase the bearing capacity of the foundation. The method is not used often, but in this case it proved necessary due to the specifics of the local soils.

      The city is dominated by weak, water-saturated soils that require stabilization. This is achieved in various ways, including freezing, chemical stabilization, and hydrocementation.

      In total, about 30,000 tons of cement have been used to reinforce more than six thousand boreholes.

      It was previously reported that the bypass road on Rodionova Street is planned to open in November.

      We also reported that the excavation of the second metro tunnel from Sennaya Square is progressing ahead of schedule.
