Construction of the Holy Gates has begun in Diveyevo.

      Work has begun in Diveevo on the construction of the Holy Gates, which will become the main entrance to the Seraphim-Diveevo Monastery.

      According to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod", the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese reported that the foundation is currently being laid. The project received state expert approval in the spring of this year.

      The Holy Gates will form part of an architectural ensemble aligned with the Kazan Cathedral. The complex will include a gate church consecrated in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, as well as a belfry.

      The project is based on 17th-century stylistic traditions. The gates will be adorned with eight domes and eight small cupolas arranged around the side drums. The total area of the structure will be 180 square meters. The height of the structure including the cross will reach 58 meters, and the arched passage will have a height of 2.8 meters.

      On the second tier will be the gate church, whose facades will be decorated with mosaic images. On the western side there will be the Old Testament Trinity, above it — a crucifix with a spear and a reed in a kiot. The eastern side will be decorated with the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, placed in the position of the central window surround. The arch of the passage will also be clad in mosaics.

      Earlier it was reported that the construction of the wall with towers at the Diveevo Monastery was being completed.
