Nizhny Novgorod's Torpedo secured its third victory over SKA this season.

      October 1, 2025, 22:45 Sports Hockey club "Torpedo" met SKA for the third time this season and for the second time in two days. The rematch in Saint Petersburg ended 3–2 in overtime.

      The first period was scoreless; the teams went to the intermission tied 0–0. In the second frame SKA took advantage of two consecutive penalties by the Nizhny Novgorod side: first Igor Larionov scored, and then Brennan Menell doubled the hosts' lead.

      Torpedo came out for the third period determined to turn the game around. Yegor Sokolov intercepted the puck in the opponent’s zone and set up Yegor Vinogradov — 2–1. The Avtozavod team was back in the game. Soon, Saint Petersburg forward Sergei Plotnikov committed a foul on Nikita Artamonov, and Vasily Atanasov converted the penalty shot, equalizing the score.

      The outcome was decided in overtime. First Denis Kostin stopped a breakaway by Trevor Murphy, and then Bobby Nardella scored his first KHL goal and gave the team the win.

      Thus, Torpedo leaves the northern capital with 4 points. The team has 17 points in 11 games and sits second in the Western Conference standings.

      Torpedo returns to Nizhny Novgorod, where on October 3 it will host Severstal Cherepovets. The Professor will try to get revenge on his former team on January 24, 2026.
