
Almost 296,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents have placed a self-imposed ban on taking out loans.

Almost 296 thousand residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region have used the self-ban service, according to the United Credit Bureau.
Thus, almost every tenth resident of the region chose to voluntarily give up the ability to take out loans.
In total, over seven months of the service's operation in the region, 330,575 applications to impose a self-ban and 20,229 to lift it were submitted.
As of October 1, 2025, a self-ban on obtaining credit is in effect for 14 million people across Russia. At the same time, 90.9% of applications are for a complete ban on obtaining credit.
The most active users of this option are citizens aged 35 to 45 (21%).
It was previously reported that a 48-year-old resident of Pochinok lifted a self-ban on credit in order to take out a loan for fraudsters.
