Nizhny Novgorod Region will join the International Eco‑Cosmic Dictation "EcoTalk"

      Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region can join the International Ecological‑Space Dictation "EcoTalk," which will take place from October 2 to 24, 2025 across the country in line with the goals and objectives of the national project "Environmental Well‑being" with the support of the Presidential Nature Fund, organizers report.

      This year the dictation’s theme is "The Planet — Our Common Home." It is held to raise the level of ecological literacy and to popularize knowledge about our planet, its resources, and how modern space technologies help in studying and protecting the environment. The event gives everyone the opportunity to test their knowledge, learn new facts, and reflect on the role of humans in preserving the natural environment.

      Anyone over the age of 13 may take part in the dictation. This can be done in two ways: online at ecodiktant.ru on any day between 12:00 on October 2 and 12:00 on October 24 (Moscow time); or offline at organized venues across the country and beyond. In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the offline format of the dictation will be available at the modern environmental education center "Ecotorium."

      The dictation is a test that includes questions on a wide range of topics: from biodiversity and climate change to satellite monitoring of the Earth and "green" energy technologies. All participants will receive certificates, and the best experts in ecology and space will receive prizes from the event’s partners.

      "The 'EcoTalk' dictation is not only a knowledge check but also an impulse toward a responsible attitude to nature. It reminds us that caring for the planet begins with simple steps — sorting waste, careful use of resources, and a desire to learn more about our common home," the event organizers noted.

      Recall that in 2025, by order of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Environmental Well‑being" began to operate in Russia, fulfilling tasks previously provided for under the national project "Ecology." The new national project envisages caring for the environment and increasing its comfort for people’s lives: creating infrastructure for sorting and recycling waste, eliminating landfills and cleaning water bodies, preserving forests, reducing emissions into the atmosphere, as well as developing ecological tourism and preserving rare animal species.

      The national project includes six federal projects: "General Cleanup," "Water of Russia," "Conservation of Biological Diversity and Development of Ecological Tourism," "Forest Conservation," "Circular Economy," and "Clean Air."
