Nizhny Novgorod Region will join the "EcoTalk" dictation.

      Residents of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast will be able to take part in the International Ecological and Space Dictation "EcoTolk," which will be held from October 2 to 24, 2025. The campaign is being implemented as part of the national project "Environmental Well‑being" with the support of the Presidential Nature Fund.

      In 2025 the theme of the dictation is "The Planet — Our Common Home." The main goal is to raise the level of ecological literacy and to popularize knowledge about the environment, its resources, and modern space technologies used for monitoring and protecting nature. Participants will be able to test their knowledge, learn new facts, and reflect on the role of humans in preserving the environment.

      Anyone over the age of 13 may participate. Participation formats include online on the website ecodiktant.ru from 12:00 on October 2 to 12:00 on October 24 (Moscow time), as well as offline at special venues across the country and beyond. In Nizhny Novgorod Oblast the offline dictation can be taken at the environmental education center "Ekotorium."

      The dictation is a test with questions on various topics: from biodiversity and climate change to space-based Earth monitoring and green energy technologies. All participants will receive certificates, and the best will receive prizes from the project's partners.

      The organizers note: "The 'EcoTolk' dictation is not only a test of knowledge but also an incentive to act responsibly toward nature. It reminds us that caring for the planet begins with simple steps — sorting waste, using resources sparingly, and striving to learn more about our common home."

      Since 2025, the national project "Environmental Well‑being" has come into effect in Russia, developed by order of President Vladimir Putin. It continues the tasks previously implemented under the national project "Ecology." The new project is aimed at protecting the environment and improving quality of life: creating infrastructure for waste sorting and recycling, eliminating landfills, cleaning water bodies, preserving forests, reducing atmospheric emissions, developing eco‑tourism, and protecting rare animal species.

      The national project comprises six federal projects: "General Cleanup," "Water of Russia," "Conservation of Biodiversity and Development of Ecotourism," "Forest Conservation," "Circular Economy," and "Clean Air."
