The ban on gasoline exports from Russia has been extended until the end of the year.

01 October 2025 13:13 Economy The Russian government has decided to introduce significant restrictions on the export of petroleum products to stabilize the price situation in the domestic market. This was reported by TV channel "360" citing an official statement from the cabinet of ministers.

According to the new decree, the ban on the export of motor gasoline has been extended until December 31, 2025. Restrictions also apply to the export of diesel fuel and other types of gas oils.

As noted by the government's press service, these measures concern all exporters, regardless of whether they are producers or intermediaries. However, exemptions are provided for producers with respect to diesel fuel deliveries.

The decision was made in connection with rising prices for gasoline and diesel fuel on the domestic market during the summer-autumn period. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak acknowledged a slight shortage of petroleum products, but stressed that the situation is under control thanks to accumulated fuel reserves. Heads of some regions also reported problems with supplying filling stations (gas stations).

The export restrictions are aimed at increasing the volume of petroleum products on the domestic market. In addition, the government seeks to prevent illegal exports, when fuel is purchased at domestic prices and resold abroad.

Recall that in several regions of Russia, including the Nizhny Novgorod Region, filling stations have begun to impose limits on gasoline sales.

Earlier, Governor Gleb Nikitin spoke about a shortage of gasoline at gas stations in the region. According to him, the situation should stabilize in the near future. All necessary instructions on this matter have been issued.
