Police in Bogorodsk detained a repeat offender who had been evading the court.

      In August of this year, a 33-year-old resident of the region, who a year ago received a suspended sentence for theft, again committed a property crime. The court decided to replace the suspended sentence with actual imprisonment.

      According to the ruling, the man was to report to a colony-settlement on his own to serve the sentence. However, he did not do so within the prescribed time. As a result, he was declared federally wanted.

      Police officers in Bogorodsk established the whereabouts of the wanted man.

      After his arrest, the repeat offender was placed in the special detention facility for detainees of the OMVD of Russia "Bogorodsky" and then handed over to the initiator of the search.

      Earlier it was reported that police had detained a Nizhny Novgorod repeat offender for a series of store thefts.
