At the Belgorod plant OMK Energomash (part of the United Metallurgical Company), they honored Valentina Nefedova, who has been working there for 52 years. She was presented with a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for her contribution to the development of domestic mechanical engineering and for ensuring high product quality.
Valentina Nefedova joined the enterprise in 1973 and has since remained one of its key specialists. Under her supervision, the most complex heat-treatment processes were mastered, and products that passed inspection have not received a single complaint over all these years.
OMK Energomash Managing Director Alexander Vashchenko emphasized that Valentina Vasilievna has become a mentor to several generations of engineers and quality controllers. According to him, her work is directly linked to the plant’s reputation and the safety of energy facilities, and the awarding of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s certificate was a natural recognition of half a century of work by a top-level professional.
Nefedova’s special role is in personnel training. She has trained dozens of specialists, many of whom today hold managerial positions at the enterprise. Valentina Vasilievna herself notes that mentoring has always been a matter of honor and responsibility for her.
“I worry about my students’ mistakes just as much as about my own. I treat my work with care: I won’t be at ease until I find the cause of a defect. This work and this team have become like family to me,” she shared.
Over the years of service, Valentina Nefedova has repeatedly received letters of appreciation and awards, including the Medal “For Services to the Belgorod Land,” Second Class. Answering a question about the future, she says she will continue to work as long as her strength and health allow.
